Trying to Conceive 1 year, 5 months agoSo, I changed insurance’s with my new job…It wasn’t a huge adjustment becuase it was back to the clinic I had for 25 years before going on my husbands 4 years ago. I met with the Dr. for my “semi-new again” patient check up and my main goal was to go over this fertility stuff and to ask if they had any other suggestions for clinics in our…[Read more]

Trying to Conceive 1 year, 7 months agoQuestion for anyone….Will my ob/gyn suffice for a fertility checkup or should I make an appointment with another kind of doctor?
-
You can start with your ob/gyn for your basic blood tests. If you think will end up at a fertility specialist anyways it might be worth having them do all the tests.
-
Thanks Wendy!

I would make an appointment with a reproductive endocronologist for a consult. Sometimes talking about your cycle & your medical history helps and they can direct u better than an OB unless the Ob is a fertility specialist too. You can talk to your OB they can maybe do some blood testing but if you really want more answers see a specialist. …[Read more]

Thanks Fran. I will do some research in my area. I don’t want to 6 months to pass and still be no further along than I currently am

No problem, I wouldn’t wait make the appointment so u know now and time doesn’t pass. You can go to Resolve.org for more info & find Dr.’s in your area. Also, if you’re interested in reading more about my journey with infertility check out my webiste http://www.secretinfertility.vpweb.com Thanks!

I would definately go to a fertitility specialist. Turns out if my dr would have been honest with me and told me my husbands numbers were really low…we would have never gone through with the IUI’s. RE’a know what they are doing. RE told us that IUI’s work only 15% of the time. Its ultimately your decision but go with your gut.

Thanks. Seems the fertility specialist is the way to go.

Trying to Conceive 1 year, 7 months agoHi Everyone
I am new here and have been ttc since 2/2011. My question is:
At what point did you start looking into why you aren’t getting pregnant. I’ve read it can take up to a year, but it’s been almost […]
-
Hi Maddy!
it took me awhile to facd the fact that I wasn’t getting pregnant on my own. If your gut is telling you something is not right, I wouldn’t wait. A doctor can at least get started with some basic tests and it might take some stress of worrying off your shoulders.-
Thanks for your response Meghan. I am thinking it’s time to get active here and stop sitting here waiting.

Trying to Conceive: 1 year, 10 months agoAntoinette: If one does “embryo adoption” or open embryo donation, the fees can easily run $13,000 – $18,000. The vast majority of our donors and recipients prefer an anonymous approach which runs about $7,200. The process is not that complex and we do not require a home study or attorney input unless desired by the [...]
